Yvonne's Story
Hello, past friends and acquaintances. Yvonne left PCI at the end of grade 12 to work. Left job and returned to complete grade 13 in '69. That was quite a year! The local restaurant, was it The Green Dolphin (?),was our home away from home. The owner used to clear out the place and hide us in the back when an office bean counter felt obliged to conduct a search and rescue. Once attendance became optional, I recall when we tutored German classes in the cafeteria, our second home. One day,there was only one student in Deutsch class! speak English! I admired her patience and kindness with my mediocre French skills. I ended up in Teachers' college, rather than OCA, and am retired but still teaching. I am not the clubby sort of person, dropped out of Girl Guides, so will not appear in any of the extra curricular clubs. Happily married for a hundred years, live in West Toronto with hubbie,dawg, tropical fish and about 100 houseplants. Kids out, but not really...So, would love to touch base with some of the friends of my youth, who remember that year. You all made my last year at Parkdale so much fun. It was worth the pay cut!
