Yvonne's Story
Life
I didn't graduate from Henry Abbott because my family moved to Florida, but my closest high school ties are at Abbott Tech because it's where I attended High school the longest. I was in the Cosmetology program there. I am married and have been for 11 years now. We have two adult children, Kurt and Kris who are married to our two wonderful Daughter-in-laws, Amanda and Demetra respectively. I am going to be a grandmother in June of 2009. I am an attorney practicing in the employment law and Bankruptcy fields and I own my own law firm. I also recently accepted a position working for the Department of Defense. I hope to hear from some of you who "knew me when"
School
I think the teacher that inspired me most was my 10th grade English teacher, Mr. Toms. He spotted my talent for writing and encouraged me to develop it. Today, I write many legal briefs as well as lyrics for the music I write. I really enjoy creative writing because of him. I also loved atte...Expand for more

Military
I loved my time in the Air Force and even today I miss the military and the people I met at the places where I was stationed.
I'm very proud of my service. I never received less than perfect reviews the entire time I was in the service (You were very wrong about everything about me SSgt. Malymeik, except that I couldn't march well!) and I received much praise and thanks from those I served as well as those I worked for.
I was a medic in the military, on the administrative side of the hospital. I conducted and processed Medical Review Boards. I don't use these skills now as an attorney, except for medical terminology, which is sometimes helpful.
I had a lot of fun in the military as well! I'll never forget Frank Smith and country night at the NCO club at March AFB. I might not have been able to march well, but I learned that I could dance up a storm! I even gave lessons. I met so many great people there.
