Zanell's Story
Life
After graduating from Austin High School in 1962 I went to work for Mountain Bell Telephone Company (AT&T) for 10 years. During that time I married Robert E. Osowski (Class of '60) and had two wonderful children. A girl, Melanie and a boy, James. Both
completed higher educations and are in successful careers. My daughter has given me a beautiful grandson born in 2003, and my son and his wife have had two beautiful grandsons, born in 2007 and 2010, respectfully.
I graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) in May of 1987. Took graduate courses at the University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma and various other post graduate courses while working for the Federal Government as a Public Affairs Specialist, supervisor and manager. tant and spent the last 20 years in the employee of the Federal Government. It has been a great and exciting life.
I retired in August 2006 and moved back to Texas to be near all my family and to enjoy the Gulf breezes. To keep busy and out of trouble I substitute teach in the public schools.
I lost my life partner, Robert, November 19, 2005. He fought a long hard battle with diabetes and Leukemia. We were married over 42 years. He had a great career with Continental Airlines, retiring in May of 2003. Even with his health challenges we lived a great and exciting life. We cruised often, flew all over the world and were best friends to the day he died. He was the bravest man I have ever known. He will always be missed by his family. Our grandson, Richie, still remembers his 'Poppy.'
