I graduated high school and went straight off to Oregon State University chasing an Electrical Engineering degree. Well Electrical Engineering was very boring and I couldn't keep motivated. I was confused and burnt out on school, so I bailed and moved back home. I worked some crappy jobs for a couple years until I figured out what I wanted to be: a Computer Scientist. So I packed up and headed back to Oregon. I went to community college for 2 years in order to get my residence established in Oregon (the university loves to charge you for out of state tuition, since its an extra $6,000 a year for them). I then transferred back to OSU and was on my way to my CS degree when the Dean of engineering told me my GPA would not be high enough to graduate (because of my poor showing my freshman and sophmore years), even though I had kept above a 3.0 the whole time I was enrolled in the Computer Science program.
