Adam's Story
Life
I am now married with 2 step sons ages 8 and 12. I have a daughter with my wife she is 17 months now (11-30-2005). I worked as an EMT/FF for 4 years until I was injured on the job. For the most part I am a stay at home dad. I have my own company doing IT including networking, system upgrading and repair, as well as web design. My wife works as an EMT for a private company in the city of Dover, DE. She works nights handeling all the emergency calls for the city. I have not changed much from highschool Im still the nut I was then (maybe a little worse). I still keep in touch with some of the Caravel crew but for the most part I haven't heard much from or about anyone since graduation. School
School was school, nothing they teach you prepares you for life. I had a great time, should have applied myself more but hey what fun is that?
Workplace
Well after working during the 4 semesters I went to college, I worked as a pharmacy tech. It was a job and I got to wear a cool aqua colored vest (lol). From there I joined the local Volunteer Fire...Expand for more
company and took classes to become an EMT. I worked full time as an EMT for about 3 years before rupturing 2 disk in my lower back. The Volunteer Co. had appointed me as the Lt. of the Ambulance and I was voted in as the Fire Recorder and BOD member. After I got hurt I lost my interest in fire/ems. My wife is still an EMT. I was faced with the same choices as after high school, find a job or go to school. Well the State said they would help me with the schooling or retrain me in another career, only they didn't want to train me in what I wanted to do. To make a long story short finding a job when you are partialy disabled sucks. It was easier to find work when I was fresh out of school. I decided to go back to work as an EMT when my back had healed, this lasted 3 weeks and I reinjured my back. Well after this I lost my house (3 kids and a mortgage on one pay check), I made up my mind with the encouragement of all that know me and decided to do computer work. Well after taking some classes and a lot of self teaching I now have started my own business. I am happy with what I do and am darn good at it so life is good. I constantly better my self by learning new things.
