Adrian's Story
Life
Life.....where do I start? Well in a word...evolution. I have alot of the same traits that I had 15 years ago, but just updated. I have grown out of my former shy-self over time, but haven't become an entirely different person. Learning that we all look & talk different but do the same things has allowed me 2 be more clear. I also understand that everyone "gets" me, but they don't have to. I do whatever I feel...right or wrong.
School
School was a learning experience (ha). More socially the book-wise, just I always got good grades, but socially I was inept. If I didn't click with you rite away, you didn't like me. Then again, most people never heard of the kid cause I'm not really interested in the spotlight. Anyways, I made some mistakes dealing with people (like not listening to people when I should have, not going after the only girl I really like cause I scared, etc..) but I learned from them. Gotta know where you've been 2 know where your going right?
College
Wayne State....I love it,I hate it....Well for me to say I hate it would be dumb since I'm there all the time. I use it as a gateway to the would by meeting...Expand for more
different people all the time, and a good way to stay away from where I live! I'm in the hood (not the rap hood, the real hood), but I don't act like it (or look it) so I don't really have friends around my way. College really helped me down the path I'm taking, even if everything else slowly crumbles around me...
Workplace
So my goal is to be a music journalist. How do I get there....alot of BS and alot of music knowledge. At first it started with just a little cd collection and a good reason to ignore class. Over time I learned what happens with the records we hear, why we hear some but not the others, what happens to artist when they don't do well, how do artists get paid. While learning that I had a bunch of opinions to share and not enough people to listen, that's when I knew it was time to move the pen.
I also DJ from time to time, it's fun cause I get a ton of records that most haven't heard so when I spin them people go nuts, sometimes. Sometimes people don't dance just because they haven't seen a video of the song before (or yet). It's a challenge (since I don't wanna just play songs off the radio) but I love it!!!
