Alan's Story
Living life on the edge. Challenging authority. Existential: Life is too important to be taken too seriously.
After HS, I "woke up" when I left home in an argument with my dad and hitch-hiked to Montreal for Expo 67.
Came back in 68 and found out I was undisciplined when I quit the Cdn Forces. Joined Rochdale College and discovered my true self! Hitch-hiked across NA in 1970, returning by hopping freights. Went to Ryerson for Radio and TV Arts (1970-73). Worked at CBC Radio. Directed radio news in NE British Columbia. Managed the community channel and taught TV production at a high school in Terrace, BC. Studied Psych at SFU. ...Expand for more
Went to grad school in NYC.
Helped troubled teens in high school in Metro Vancouver.
Now I help people find work, supervising an employment resource centre.
