Alan's Story
After graduate school, I made a living as a software engineer (computer programmer) for about 30 years, then quit, cold turkey, on work in early 2008. See how happy I look in the picture? Now, I play guitar, write blogs and sing karaoke to amuse myself.

said to the development lead, "Let's get that new guy you just brought in, too." The dev lead said, "Who?" The manager said, "You know, that UI guy who's doing the control panel applet." The acronym "UI" stands for "user interface", not "unemployment insurance", by the way.
The dev lead told me the story later, and I found it humorous to be anonymous and known only as "that UI guy". I've adopted it as a pseudonym. My other nom de plume is DisgruntledCurmudgeon. Look for that when get your daily dose of... what? Of, 'kos! Email would be nice, too. You know, that dot you eye dot guy at, gee, which mail is that? Oh, com' on, now!
