Alana's Story
Life
Right now, I'm working on my writing.
While in school, I wrote a soap opera (about 30 episodes satarizing my life) and three plays performed at my local church. After that I went to school-Shippensburg University to be a teacher. But I hated the red-tape, coorportae, bureacracy end of that, so after a few years, I left. Spent a semester at CCAC, a year at Pitt, and am now taking time off to work on my writing.
I begun working at the JCC (Jewish Community Center, on Forbes Ave, about 8 blocks from our high school) the year I left Shippensburgh, and haven't left. I love it there, I work with the 1 1/2 year olds. We sing, dance, play games, laugh, have all kinds of fun.
The rest of the time I spend working on my writing. I've written a few short stories, and plays, movies, novels. . . really everything, but I haven't had the time to finish them, polish them to the point where they could be sold, published . .etc. So that's what I'm going to try to do now.
In the future, I hope to get married and move out of my parents house, and probably out of Pittsburgh, become a foster parent, and become an award winning Writer/Director
School
I'm the girl who dropped a cinderblock on her toe the night before opening night for "Pippin" (The school play for my senior year, April 2000) and did the ballet dance scene anyway. (but only for the first two shows)
Other stage crew memories- for those who were involved:
Hell, me and Justin sneaking ...Expand for more
around behind the set of "West Side Story"-1999. Those giant green leaves that took forever to paint for "Into the Woods" "Into the woods to grandmother's house and home before dark" + "Greens, greens, and nothing but greens, parsely, peppers, cabages and celery, arrugula and watercress, fiddleferns and lettece. He said allright, but it wasn't quite, 'cause I caught him in the autumn in the garden one night. . . . . "
Choir
Mrs. Panniza, captain george. Saying the words of the songs, and not singing them until the last week before the performance. PKTSF, Les Mis, Singing Valentines.
Mrs. Levenson and those giant gym socks.
Those wonderful thick cookies that Mr. Lowe used to sell in the hallway until stupid McMurray came in.
