Alexandra's Story
Life
My Pets
They were Siamese mix cats named Pixie and Dixie. They were very vocal and lovedto snuggle with me.Unfortunately, Pixie and Dixie passed away in 2003, at the age of 20.
Last year, I got to hand raise a 2 day old orphan kitten into a healthy cat. It was hard work, but well worth it to know I saved a life.
My Travels
I became a travel junkie in 1991, about a year after I bought my first car. I really developed a passion for road trips.
I got hooked on foreign travel when I won an all expense paid trip to the Bahamas for outstanding sales performance at work. After that, I visited my mother in France when she was on a Fullbright teachers exchange. I also visited my significant other in England when he was stationed at Mohlsworth Airforce Base in Peterborough, England. I went over to see him three times.
School
I went to Loretto Academy, a Catholic high school for girls. It was very peaceful there.
My favorite class was humanities with Mrs. Keleman. It was great, for the first few classes, I got to debate with her about why God made the world, and didn't he indirectly create evil. I had fun arguing with her.
Since I was easily the shyest ...Expand for more
girl in my class, I did not get to know the other girls very well. The ones I wish I had known better include Lynda Ontiveros, Sandra Tomasello, Jolie Fontenot, and Tanya Ellis. I wish I had more confidence when I was in high school, because I know I missed out on a lot of fun! I enjoyed fun as much as the next girl, I was just painfully shy about approaching others.
College
I majored in biopsychology at Nebraska Wesleyan University. It is a small liberal arts college in Lincoln, Nebraska.
I joined Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. I also participated in speech.
My biggest accomplishment in college was being the president of Women's Organization Reaching Tangible Horizons (WORTH). We did protest marches against violence against women, and I held a panel discussion on eating disorders, which Mary Pipher, PhD led, before she became famous for writing Reviving Ophelia.
In 2002, I decided to pursue a master's degree in hospitality and tourism management at Roosevelt University. Unfortunately, I became too sick to continue.
Now I am healthier and attending The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and pursuing a master's degree in forensic psychology.
