Karamanol's Story
Upon leaving River Dell, I got my BA, then my MA in Art Education at Montclair State College. I taught art for many years, then went back to school (Pratt Institute) to become an Art Therapist. I worked for17 years in Jersey City. I am now retired and living in our "dream house" in the Poconos. My husband Jack is also a retired teacher. Our children Alisa and Jason are both married. Alisa and Mark, who moved to New Hampshire, have two sons, Brendan,13, and Evan,11 years, and Hannah (4) our beautiful and only granddaughter. Our son Jason and his wife Sharon have two little boys, Nicholas Robert 8 years old(aka Niko) and Christopher Jason 6 years old (aka CJ) who keep us busy being grandparents. We have a min pin (miniature pincher) named Leah who is small but mighty, has us well trained, and keeps us laughing all the time.We recently rescued a "little brother"...Expand for more
min pin for Leah ... his name is Luke (Skywalker) a fiesty companion for Princess Leah. I do volunteer work (arts and crafts club and songfests) at Heritage Hill Senior Community ... so I still teach, and love it. I am very involved in my church, and am the organist ... a new venture ... I've played the piano for years but just recently took on the organ . I also play the guitar during praise services. I have been active for 31 years in Tres Dias ... an interdenominational Christian retreat ministry. Jack and I are also Christian Life Coaches, and help people out whenever we can. I still do a lot of artwork ... painting, ceramics, and crafts, and love it. I've illustrated a children's book that was published, and another one is in the works. All and all, life is good ... Jack and I will be celebrating our 47th anniversary in December, and we're still very happy!
