Allan's Story

Life I Joined the U S Air Force in November 1966 and retired as a Master Sgt. in October 1991. In the process I did get to college. In fact I have 6 degrees, including a M Ed and a S Ed from the Univ. of Southern Mississippi. I have one daughter, Kimberly. She teaches preschool. I now work as a veteran's employment supervisor with the state of Texas. I wrote a book in 2000-2001. It is called 'From Beggar Boy to Prince', and has been avalable on Amazon.com since June 2001. I was stationed in Vietnam, Japan, Korea, Greece, and Greenland. Within the U.S. I've been stationed in Texas (4 different bases), California (2 bases), Mississippi, Hawaii, Alaska and Washington State. I've also been on temporary duty to half a dozen other countries and a dozen other states. I started out fixing aircraft. Then I flew as a flight engineer for a while, before I started teaching in technical school. I ended up my career leading telephone switching installation teams through out the south east. I also served as a public affairs chief and a historian on the side.
