Allen's Story
My folks moved to Tulsa after sixth grade, then to Boulder, Colorado, where I graduated from Fairview High School. I graduated from Univ. of Oklahoma in 1967 with a B.S. in geology, received a Ph.D. in ecology from the University of Colorado in 1975, and a law degree from the University of Denver in 1981. My wife (Linda) and I live in Carbondale, Colorado.
I'm still working, for the Bureau of Land Management near Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Beautiful country, but I have a lot of the Southern High Plains in my genes.

adan now, having lived here for all but three years since 1960, but Forth Worth will always be in my blood. Such a wonderful childhood, and such a great school at Oakhurst. I think of the teachers and my classmates often. I think we were very lucky to grow up when and where we did.
I recently published a book on the ecology of Colorado and owe my lifelong interest in nature to the many trips to the Forest Park Zoo with my family on warm Texas Sundays. My two sisters, Carol and Mary Jo, live in Lubbock and near Fort Worth, respectively.
