Allen's Story
Life
I lived in Huntsville for several years but had a very disruptive and abusive life. As those of you who know me remember, I skipped school a lot and just generally stayed in trouble (I had some great mentors during this time period:-)
In 1989, I applied for a GED and joined the U.S. Army. My first duty station was in Manhheim Germany (3/7th Calvary) to where I was selected to join the CATT (ARMY) in Freidberg Germany. It was there that I attended the University of Maryland and received my degree in Computer Science.
I am now married with two wonderful children (7 & 9). My wife is German and we used to live in Rosbach Germany but have now moved back to the States. I now work for the Department of Defense as an Information Assurance Officer.

ret that I never had a chance to live a "normal" childhood but I am glad that I learned how not to treat my children and had something that drove me to the success in life that I now have.

College
Most of my college experience was done on military bases. Although the majority of my attendance was with the University of Maryland, I have recently attended courses with the University of Phoenix for my Masters degree.
The campus here is not like your standard college. Our classrooms are actually old conference rooms and our instructors usually have other jobs during the day. It takes a lot of dedication to work a full day and then attend class at 8:00 PM!
