So much to say, so little space! Currently living in New York City (...though soon to be in Yonkers, NY), working as an Administrative Intern in the Dept. of Epidemiology at NY-Presbyterian Hospital. One part of my job is that of a Sanitarian (Hand Hygiene Observer). I observe and make sure all health care workers at the five hospitals associated with NY-Pres. in the NYC area are practicing proper hand hygiene techniques while dealing with patients. I educate / report on those health care workers that are non-compliant. I collect all of this data on my trusty lil' Palm Pilot for compliance reports sent throughout the hospital system.
