Alyssia's Story
Life
Since Graduating from Stewartville High School in 1995, I went to South Central Technical College in North Mankato,Mn and got my degree in Hotel/Restaurant and Institutional Cooking. I have traveled to Mexico in the 1995 with Girl Scouts to the World Center, Our Cabana, I got to travel to Europe in 1998 to 2 other World Centers- Pax Lodge, Our Chalet. Have gone on several trips with SW Tours to Washington/Oregon, Many Mystery Tours and on trips with Glenn's Motorcoach tours to Calgary, Glacier National Park, California, Upstate New York, South Carolina, New Orleans/Mississippi/ Tennessee and Virginia. Didn't get to travel to Nova Scotia and Atlantic Canada in 2020 due to Covid-19 pandemic. This year, we are going to Utah to see Bryce, Zion and Mesa verde and the north rim of the Grand Canyon. In 2023 I am going to New York City- I will see the 9/11 museum and memorial and many other places.
I was employed at the Stewartville Care Center in the Dietary department for 23 yrs until October 15th, 2020 due to moving to Danube, Mn (My Mom's hometown). I started a new job at Renville Health Services on February 8th, 2021 in the dietary department as a prep cook now for 2 years. In M...Expand for more
arch of 2023, my full time Prep cook position was elimated due to low census in the facility and budget reasons and lost my full time benefits and hours as well. I am still at Renville Health Services working as part time Dietary Aide.
I have a black and white Shih Tzu named Pretti (who passed away 12-4-2-21 from cancer)and a Gray and white tabby cat named Buddy( He passed away 12-8-21 at the age of 17) We got a new puppy on 6-17-22(which would have been Pretti's 11th birthday),her name is Princess Sunshine(Sunny for short). She is now 1 yr old, Llasa Apsa and she is black and white. She is such a ham and has become a shoe snitcher-lol. We have to get her off of that habit quickly. She still is learning sit, stay and come. Loves her tummy rubs every morning.
I enjoy going to flea markets, craft sales, garage sale, thirft stores, antique stores. . I also enjoy gardening, scrapbooking, reading, and coloring and collecting cookbooks, WWE action figures and keep track of my favorite NFL team, the Minnesota Vikings and love fantasy football and collecting Nascar die cast cars & haulers and John Deere haulers. I also enjoy watching the Minnesota Twins and the Minnnesota Wild hockey.
