Amanda Pelon:  

Life after High School: I graduated from Grand Valley State University with a B.A. in International Relations and Business. As undergrad, I studied in Poland and Germany. I worked for the Study Abroad office at Grand Valley throughout undergrad. Life after College: My first job out was in Japan as an Assistant Language Teacher through the Japan Exchange and Teaching Programme. Afterward, I moved to New York City where I worked in study abroad administration. I really loved the work but wanted to get a Master's degree. I spent a semester in a Masters program at Michigan State University, studying Student Affairs Administration. After working for Michigan State, I defected to the University of Michigan. Then I moved with my fiance to Georgia in 2003. There I was an Admissions and Testing Advisor for Chattahoochee Technical College before becoming a Human Resources Generalist. 2006 was a rough year as both me and my husband were laid off. We made our way back to Michigan where I finished my Master's at Michigan State. Now we are both looking forward to returning south and are actively looking to relocate! Joys outside of work/school: I am still connected with great friends from Napoleon, from college and from my travels around the world. I am married to a great guy who loves to travel as much as I do. We are always planning our next trip. I have no children, and I am too busy with neices and nephews to ever want one of my own. We are looking ahead to a BEAUTIFUL new house and we enjoying the Southern hospitality and weather. High School In high school, I was always somewhere in the middle. Had great friendships that I thought would last forever...sadly, only a couple have. I enjoyed Spanish with Mrs. Nugent, English with Mrs. Alden and History with Mr. Boer.
