Amy's Story
Life
We have an 8 year old son, 6 year old daughter and a 2 1/2 year old son. Life is busy with children activities, school, soccer, scouts, etc. We bought a 35 ft. camper this year to begin building summertime memories for our family. Looking forward to seeing the country with the kiddies.
I have also authored a book "Positively PCOS", which is my campaign to spread knowledge about a little known condition called Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.
School
If I could do high school all over again. I'd be more brave! I didn't have as much self confidence then as I do now. I still loved my school experience though. I really had some wonderful moments and have many memories. I sometimes look back at photos and I am astonished that what was in style was a style at all. We are the only generation that had "big hair", legwarmers and jelly shoes.
Workplace
My very first paying job was at the Bayshore Supper Club, because I could ride my bike. I didn't have my driver's license yet. I made like $2/hr plus tips as a bus girl. Then I moved on up to ma...Expand for more
king $2.50/hr. at Dairy Depot. That was quite a hot spot. I saw everyone there all summer. I then spent 2 years at Bud's Deep Discount Drug Store. What a blast, we had so much fun at that store. The workers were all young and fun. That's how I paid for the first 2 years of college.
My first 'real' office job was in 'downtown' Toledo at Manpower doing their Accounts Receivable. I last about 6 months before finding a "temporary" job at a company called Dana Commercial Credit that lasted 12 years. I finished my degree in Finance while working full time at Dana. I eventually climbed the corporate ladder to become Assistant Treasurer of Dana Credit Corporation a now defunct subsidiary of Dana Corporation. Working for a Fortune 500 company in it's prime, was one of the best working experiences of my life.
When I left Dana to raise two small children, I decided to continue to pursue my love of photography and run a studio out of our home. It mixes well with all of our busy schedules and allows me to continue to work on something that I love.
