Amy's Story

Life Life is a funny thing that always changes, so it obviously can't be summed up in less than 4000 characters. Mine has been boring and eventful, good and bad, but still moving forward. A basic overview - I grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota with my mom, dad and brother Nick. Went to school, worked odd jobs. Had basically one best friend all thru school, Corinne, but we've just recently parted ways. It was kind of like my divorce, "Irreconcilable Differences" ..although I didnt like my husband as much and my divorce was uglier. Joined the military right after graduation, I then lost all contact with friends, other than Corinne. I got married, divorced, moved, and came home. I now have a 2 1/2 year old son and love him to death. There's so many things I'd change in my life, but I'm happy and satisfied with the outcome, so I am content with where I am. =) School School was never a top priority for me until now. I didnt pay attention at all, except in art class. I'm not sure how I graduated, but I managed. If I could I would go back and try harder, study, pay more attention. I didnt think it would matter, but now realize they teach you certain things for a reason. I'm in college now, trying to catch up on high school and still do my current work. Pain in the butt, but I'm paying for it now, so I try harder. That's how it goes, I guess. College I started going to the University of Sioux Falls in the fall of 2002. I am currently still attending, slowly making my way to graduation. Although I wish I had those ideal care-free, partying, dating college days...Expand for more
, I'm glad I have the life I do and wouldn't change it for the world. So far my estimated graduation date is 2006 if I can manage to keep school and work in motion. Hopefully soon after that I will be able to be an elementary school art teacher. I can't wait until I can teach little children a subject I truly love. Workplace I have had alot of odd jobs. I worked at Dairy Queen, Thunder Road, Carmike Cinema's, Red Devil Speedway/Hartford Speedway, a Medic in the Air Force, First Premier Bank, and Sioux Valley Clinic. All these jobs are basically there to fill time and add up money... they are getting me thru school so I may one day become an elementary school art teacher and do something I love. Until then I am satisfied with what I do and love all my friends at my current and past jobs. Military I joined the military right after high school for no better reason than I had nothing else planned to do. I left town for Basic Training June 30th. I had a few difficulties in Basic Training which prolonged my graduation, but I stuck it thru and finished. I was then sent to Sheppard AFB to learn a job I didnt want at all and has no real interest in. I enjoyed the military way of life, though, so I continued on. I married the completely wrong man and my orders were changed from Misawa AFB, Japan to Shaw AFB, SC. I spent almost 2 years in SC, meeting alot of awsome people that I regretably lost contact with. I disliked my job so much that when I had the choice to get out, I did. I left my active duty life in SC in 2001 and went back to my home & roots in South Dakota.
