When I left LMHS I was already married (April 1975), I moved to NJ and had my 1st daughter, Shayna Maria, Nov,1976 and my 2nd daughter, Nichole Natalia, May,1979. I studied music and worked on my voice, coaching with some terrific teachers. My musical focus became Jazz. In 1980 I was divorced and became a single mom living in Philadelphia. I continued my voice training and pursued acting classes as well. In 1982 I was working at WMMR Radio and was the sexy "Hump Day" voice on Wednesday mornings John DiBella's Show. (My 15 minutes of fame..in 10 second increments!) I began singing in some of the little jazz clubs around town and met some incredible artists both local and world known. It was exciting and it was Rock N Roll...when I finally rolled out of the haze...I decided to move to AZ, in 1989. I was teaching modeling in Tucson for alittle while and finally landed in a town just outside of Phoenix, Tempe, home of ASU, was here just 4 months when my Nichole was killed in a pedestrian auto accident...I was shattered into thousands of pieces...my oldest, Shayna, went of the deep end and I had a new baby girl, Mercedes Nichole, 1 month after the accident,Sept 1991...(yes, I was 7 1/2 months pregnant when she died, and I had just thrown my fiance out of my life.) I found my sanity in Spiritual Source. My turning point from grief and deep depression occured when from my home I walked to a little church and had a conversation with God..."If I'm gonna trust you ... it's now or never." I walked into the church and got "dunked"(no disrespect inferred).The baptism was not the cause of the change...the intention of my commitment fueled my long journey to normalcy ...it took a couple of years...but, in retrospect, these were some of the best years of my life...I had the rar...Expand for more
