Life
Married to Mary Everest Tevington, an artist. Met in Washington, D.C., while both working for Oklahoma's senior senator, she as legislative specialist for women's and children's issues, I as press secretary.
Currently certified as a divorce/family and civil/commercial mediator and conducting mediations for various clients.
Retired as the pastor at Leland Clegg Memorial United Methodist Church, a racially diverse church in Oklahoma City.

Wrote a weekly column on world's religions for Daily Oklahoman and published a book in 2007 called "Our Faiths: A Peace Offering" on same topic.
Previously active in politics and wrote Oklahoma Constitution amendment creating state ethics commission.
