Angela's Story
Life
March 23, 2005
Dear All - or dear whoever remembers me!
I went to North Shoreview Elementary School from 3rd to 6th grade, then to Turnbull Middle School 7th and 8th grades.
Afterwards (Aug. 1971) I went to Germany as an exchange student, but never returned to the US. Instead our family moved to Germany. My brother Uwe and my sister Karen are living in Canada. Doris is also still in Germany.
I am a Director at a shipping company, which owns almost 40 vessels, container vessels, heavy-lift vessels, bulk carriers and tankers.
I've been married for almost 20 years and have an 18-year-old son, who just returned from Arlington, WA - where he went to school for one semester.
Please send me a message if you remember me!
Cheers,
Angela

Continuation.....
We live in a beautiful part of northern Germany, between Bremen and Hamburg, in a small town named Wilstedt. The town has a population of about 1700. We have two Maine Coone cats (we used to also have a German Shepard dog). My husband and I both work in Bremen. Our son (19 next week) still goes to school in a nearby town. Currently we have an exchange student living with us since Aug. 2005. She's from Lodi, CA and will be staying with us until June 21, 2006. She loves Germany and intends to return in two years or so for studying.
Cheers,
Angela

Further continuation of my story..... :-)
We no longer have any pets, our son is 26 and has finished schooling (international forwarding and logistics merchant - if I translated this correctly) and has worked. He is currently in Australia on a work&travel visa (for one year, which ends this summer, but he will try to get a 2nd-year work&travel visa). He ju...Expand for more
st loves it there! And we miss him! He will go back to school and continue education when he gets back.
I’ve christened a tanker in Shanghai-Pudong in 2006 (MT PATNOS).
We've had a second exchange student in 2007 (?). Both exchange students have visited us again since. In fact, our last exchange student worked for the company I work for as as intern for eight weeks, so she could live with us again and go in and out of the city (Bremen) with me. It was good to have her back in the family.
I am still a member of 5W (women welcome women world wide, look into it) and had a visitor from Tokio last summer (Shizuko). We had a good time together.
(The company I work for now owns 56 ships incl. offshore and special purpose ships :-), but times could be better)
My husband still has him little import company and now in addition to that a logistics company with two friends.
This year Karen&Bob and Uwe&his son Karsten are coming to Germany for Christmas, which we are very much looking forward to.
Anybody travelling to Germany? You are welcome to visit us, let me know ahead of time. I will be happy to show you around.
Ciao
Angela

More ... as life goes on ...
II am 63 yrs old now and will retire at the end of the month.
I‘ve been to San Mateo three times since 2015, spending most of the time there with my oldest friend Val and also with other friends I grew up with. My husband and I usually travel to the west coast of Canada when we go that direction, since 2 of my siblings have been living there for over 30 years.
My sister Doris and I had booked flights for a 4 week’s visit to California in June, which was cancelled due to Covid. ☹️
Keep safe in times of Covid!
Cheers,
Angela
