Angie's Story
Life
I graduated from UW-Oshkosh in 1995 with a B.A. in International Studies, and then joined the Air Force as a linguist. I've got another language under my belt now, as well as some trips to Korea, Italy, and New Zealand! I served 8 years on active duty in the Air Force, and am now in the Reserves. As for my "real" job, I work for the government in the Washington D.C./Baltimore area. I bought a house several years ago; I'd like to move closer to work eventually, but I'm enjoying quaint little Sykesville, Maryland in the meantime while waiting for the housing market to bounce back. :)
I love to travel with my friends out here, and my latest adventures included a Caribbean cruise, trips to Philly, Boston, and San Franc...Expand for more
isco! In the meantime, there's plenty in Washington to keep me occupied.
College
Masters in National Security Studies (American Military University)
Workplace
I work for the Department of Defense. My job ROCKS. It's very demanding, but I love it, and I hope that never changes.
Military
I served for eight years in the U.S. Air Force as a Korean linguist and analyst. I attended the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA for language training, and went to Goodfellow AFB, TX for training. I served two tours in Korea and two at Fort Meade, Maryland. I don't regret those 8 years for a second; I met some of my very best friends through the military, and the Air Force paved the way for the job I have now as a civilian.
