Anita's Story
Life
I've been around a few blocks--University of Chicago education plus 2 Master's degrees (theology and counseling) and ABD in practical theology; computer career starting in pre-operating system 1965 and off and on through data management of national HIV/AIDS database using SAS; two husbands (first marriage ended in an unrenovated brownstone in inner-city Brooklyn and second one involved both computers and motorcycles); two sons now in their 30s, one born in Army hospital in Germany, other one in Italian hospital; some music school, playing in churches, now playing some jazz; I've lived with full-time household help and in a 10-foot travel trailer with an outhouse, in several major cities and in a Nebraska town with 80 residents, on my own 25 acres in North ...Expand for more
Carolina and in a tent in someone else's organic garden. Right now I live in West Seattle. On a nice day I can see the Olympics when I walk to the bank and the Cascades when I drive downtown. I teach piano, play for ballet classes, and am starting a private counseling/therapy practice. I'm working on a website, mostly for wedding business (music and ceremonies), and have recently joined a new church called Freedom Church who is planning a ministry Village of Hope here in West Seattle. Life has had its ups and downs but right now I am enjoying staying healthy and at peace in a beautiful place with friends and a good sense of purpose. My sons are doing well. My mother is a lively 85. I can still look forward to many fruitful years. What more could I ask for?
