JOIN ME THERE I recently got divorced... what a relief!!! It was one of those strange things that, "I never thought it'd happen to me." After 16 years, it surprised a lot of people. I am living in Normal, IL now I'm getting my grad degree - hope to have it by age 50. I have been working nearly 20 years with my current employer, so that is a huge accomplishment. I am not sure if I want to "move on" soon or not... I am still sorting things out since my divorce. I am satisfied with NOT getting custody. My boys are 17 and 18 now anyway, and it is likely better that they are with their dad anyway... too many legal problems with them. I am putting all of that behind me. My relationships with my children are changing rapidly, since the oldest just graduated mid-term and the youngest just got out of the Department of Corrections. My Ex-husband is 13 years older than me... and I learned that chronological age has NOTHING to do with level of maturity! I doubt that I will ever get married again... but, who knows what the future will hold. It would have to be a very special relationship for me to even begin to consider it. I am in no hurry, to say the least. My spirituality and God are very important in my life. I have learned a lot in that area. One thing I have learned is, sometimes the abuse/neglect from a spouse IS INDEED worse than divorce... ...Expand for more
