Ann's Story

Life After I finished collage I wanted to live my dream and moved to Chicago. I lived in Chicago for just over 4 years and I loved it there. I worked down town on Michigan and I lived a few blocks from Wrigley. There was nothing like walking to the train after work, the shopping and the people. The Christmas decorations all around and so much more. Then I moved out to Renton WA. (were I live now) Its about 10-15 min from Seattle. I love it here too but Chicago is the best city to me. I met my husband on line playing a game. NO not one of those dating lines or chat rooms. Just playing a game. We starting talking and kept running into each other with no plans to do so. It was strange. When I came out here to visit family I decided to meet him too but, not with out getting lots of information from him first. I got his phone numbers at work, his bosses name, address, a copy of his drivers license and family information and more. I gave all the information to my friend and went out to Seattle. It went well as you can see. Wow!!! I would of never guessed that one. On May 3rd 2002 I had my first and only child, Alyssa Yvonne Donno. She is my miracle baby. she was born 10 weeks early. She weighed 3.4 oz when she was born and spent her first month in the Special Care Nursery. She did very well and has almost caught up 100% to her age group. Children are considered preemies until the age of 2, then are often behind size or motor skills until that age. I was lucky enough to be able to quit my job and stay home with her. Like I said she is my only child and due to problems with the pregnancy she will be my only child so I didn't want to miss anything. I have a beautiful home and enjoy living on the West coast. The weather out here is not like what I was told to expect. Yes it rains out here mover days a year then Indiana but, Indiana gets more inches or rain a year then Seattle. When we have showers here in the winter you guys are snowed in. :) It don't get real cold here or real hot. If there is no snow in my yard I can just go up to the mountains and there is lots to play in. There are great places to ski, hike and camp and lots to do and see. It is green and full of hills and mountains. I love it here. I love to travel. We travel the USA and Internationally. My husband was born in England and raised in South Africa. We have a home in SA that his parents l...Expand for more
ive in and take care of. I have been out there 2 times so far and we are planning our next trip to SA now. I love to go to Disneyland or World it brings out that kid in me. Our next trip is to the Bahamas and Cancun then to Europe. I cant wait. I also like to go camping, view movies, and spend time with my family doing anything. My husband works for Microsoft as a Test MGR. He loves to do woodworking and ski. He just finished making a entertainment center and fireplace mantel. He is now working on a wine/liquor cabinet. There is a place to go skiing in South Africa were he grew up but not as good as the places out here in the USA. We enjoy going wine tasting together and often import wine form SA. Best wishes and take care. School School was had for me at first. I was the new kid on the block. I came in knowing only Stacy L. who I met just befor school started. It was hard being one of the new kids. Everyone wanted to be my friend just becasue I was new. I found chesterton High to be a great school academically. During my 4 years at Chesterton I had 2 boyfriends. They were not from Chesterton High School because I didn't want to be distracted with a boyfriend at school. I did have a crush on a guy at school and that was Chris. I liked him for as long as I can remember. I still talk to a couple friends from school, Amy Ember is one of them. She is a true friend and I will always keep in touch. There were alot of good times as well as bad. The sock hops were my favoret by far and air band. I will never forget the guys doing The Time's - the bird, or Craig singing Wolly bully. Or when we all got in a line at the sock hop and did the Bird. I loved going to school at CHS. As your parents always tell you........ Those were some of the best times of my life, good and bad alike. College I went to IVTC for 2 years to be a MA. During my time there I worked full time as a cake decorator and was full time student. I lived with my mom and step dad in Valparaiso. I sometime wish I would of went away to college, lived in a dorm and got the full college experience. I didn't because I wanted to start working quicker and move to Chicago. I moved to Chicago in 1994!!! I have worked up the ladder in the medical field I am in and my last job I was a financial Counselor at a hospital. I am very happy with what I have done with my collage education.
