April's Story
My life
After graduating from college for Court Reporting and never doing it a day in my life I came to the realization that administrative assistance was my area of expertise.ÃÂ Went on to work in radio where I met my husband of 17+ years and we have three great kids.ÃÂ Moved to Illinois back in '91 and became a pharmaceutical buyer for a drug repackaging company.ÃÂ Started my family and continued to move north into Wisconsin.ÃÂ My husband, Rich, hired into the Disney family and when he was offered his own radio station in Detroit we picked up yet again and moved East.ÃÂ Now I am the consummate soccer and PTA mom.ÃÂ Never thinking I would be labeled as such, I came to the conclusion never say never.
My kids
My oldest is Jocie, short for Jocelyn, who is 17.ÃÂ She is in the top 1% of her class and working to be Valedictorian. She wants to become ...Expand for more
a doctor and I have no doubt that will happen since she has reached each of her goals so far.
Mikaela, 13,ÃÂ is the social butterfly of the family.ÃÂ Very dramatic but has fun in everything she does.
Drew, 12,ÃÂ is our jock.ÃÂ He is interested in all things sporting.ÃÂ He is a killer soccer goalie which is his ultimate passion.
My marriage
Married for over 17 years to the same man.ÃÂ Rich has been in radio for well over 25 years, slowly but persistently working his way up the ladder.ÃÂ After struggling for his piece of the proverbial radio pie he struck it rich in 2003 by being offered a position with one of Walt Disney's radio stations.ÃÂ He was then offered his own station in 2005 and we moved to Detroit, MI.
After being away from La Porte for over 20 years, I come back every now and then for a taste of home and to catch up with old friends.
