April's Story
Life
I currently live in Houston, TX with my boyfriend Rick. We have no children but have adopted a pigeon outside our door after it was sick for a few weeks with a broken wing. Mr. Pigeon and his/her mate come to eat on our porch every day now. :)
Undergrad
After HS I attended Boston University and studied Aerospace Engineering. I decided to transfer to the University of Texas my junior year and continue with my Aerospace studies b/c UT had a better ranking and I was concerned about aerospace job opportunities in the Boston area and felt they were greater in Texas. Once at UT, I decided to combine my Aerospace degree with a degree in Business.
Grad School
I received my MBA from Rice University in 2006 with a focus in marketing and entrepreneurship. My favorite experiences in the program include 2 study abroads to Cuernavaca, MX and the University of Denver's Race & (ethics) C...Expand for more

Work
I have worked in a variety of jobs since graduating college. I spent the first four years of my career in information technology as a consultant for SEER Technologies (1 year) and Deloitte & Touche (3 years). I then tried my hand at a couple of outside sales jobs with a technical bent.
I then fell into the catering business as a sales and marketing manager for 5 years before, during, and after school. In January of 2007 I joined Dell as a laptop brand manager in their consumer group. I worked at Dell until February 2008 when they went through a series of layoffs.
I most recently was the Event Chairman for the MCHS 2008 Reunion (03/08 - 07/08). Who knows what is next...hoping for a position in Brand Management with a CPG or Retail company. I am very creative and love managing marketing campaigns and being instrumental in the growth of a business.
