Archie's Story
Life
Best friends are my wife and my daughter. Second marriage is a great success. Forced into retirement by cutbacks at Unisys, but now loving it. Got a 2006 blue mustang convertible at the end of February, 2006--having a ball! Living in southeast PA. Occasionally I clown, doing magic and puppetry. My wife, Reba, is a full-time entertainer: clown and magician. I volunteer at A.I. Dupont Hospital for Children in the KINFolk program. Laptop PCs are made available for children and their parents while the child is in the hospital. Verizon generously donates internet access for the users of the laptops. Astra-Zeneca has recently donated one hundred IBM T30s so we can upgrade our inventory.
Reba and I have visited the Southwest three times in the last four years--I would have to say we really like it there.
I visited my son, daughter-in-law and grandson--okay, it was mainly to see the GRA...Expand for more
NDson--in July 2007. He was born two days after Christmas 2006 and is a delight.
We visited my son's family again the end of July, 2008. We found Millenium Park's Cloud Gate, which is locally called "The Bean", an incredible sight--I highly recommend that anyone who winds up in the vicinity of Chicago should check it out.
This October (2008) my wife and I will spend my birthday in Hawaii--neither of us have ever been there! Notice that the picture I have posted shows me wearing a Hawaiian shirt. That was taken back in 2003--was that foreshadowing?
Back from Hawaii (Maui): It was beautiful, with delightful trade winds for all but two days. Took the Road to Hana, the back-end of which had just re-opened the weekend we arrived. It had been closed due to damage from a slight earthquake a few years previous. The volcano didn't spew lava, but reminded folks it wasn't totally asleep, I guess.
