Arthur's Story
Life
As I complete my 27th year of teaching (yup, me a teacher!) I have finally made the decision to retire from the NYC dept of ED.
Leaving while I still love it, feeling like I could have done a few more years, its a good feeling.
I believe its the right time to "make my exit", and go to something new. Enjoying my "other place" (I have an "away" place in Pa.) more, and really do a good job getting my gardens fixed up..and all those other projects that seem to get pushed aside.
And doing those "other things" that we tend to put off till later, remembering that you can buy just about anything but time. Remembering all the times my dad said "I should have....."

Well here's part II:(Nov. 11, 2008)
I officially retired on July 1st 2008,
I am trying to "make up ...Expand for more
for lost time" and do the things I wanted to do , but wouldn't take a day off from work to do. Spending time with my friends,hunting, fishing, (long) walks with my dogs, photography, learning how to use the "puter more (and better) especially trying to work on all those pictures I took and have on disk. It amazes me how much things have changed in the past 20 years, its a great (and scarey) time for a dinosaur like me..lol
I am enjoying working on my homes in NYC and Pa. just annoyed that now that I have the time, I have less endurance, so I just guess things take alittle bit longer.
I am carving a bit again, hope to get back into some juried shows, and I still teach a college class one term a year (continuing education), as well still do some "trade" work.
well again always looking to find some Old friends, as well as make new ones.
