Arthur's Story
Workplace
Geez, where haven't I been. The Navy had me stationed in Orlando, Charleston (SC) and Norfolk. While in I visited several countries and the Virgin Islands. Of all the countries I visited, there is no doubt that Italy was my favorite and my first choice if I go back to Europe.
After that, Unitive Electronics in RTP, then Siemens Westinghouse in Atlanta, followed by Nortel Networks back in Raleigh (was a great job, kind of wish I hadn't been forced out), then, PSEG in NJ but living in Delaware, and now working for PG&E out here in California!
If it's on the East Coast, I've been there either through my job(s), interviews, or just travelling. I've been to almost every state in the union now (only a handful left in the continental US and Alaska/Hawaii).
Military

me free advice:
I would say "make sure you know what you'll be getting into" but there's simply no way to prepare one for that. The military was very beneficial to me and many that I knew in the service, however it also takes a toll, particularly these days, I'm sure. It's an incredible opportunity, but also a major sacrifice.
I once thought that everyone should pull a two-year tour or something. Since being in, I know this to be a bad idea. But there is so much benefit to joining, especially for those like me who were unmotivated or undiciplined. I learned great skills that helped me get every job I've had since I got out and most of all I learned the value of hard work. I just wish I could have done it without having to clean those toilets every day and working for some of the stupidest people I've ever known.
