Ava's Story
After graduating from SLU, I have spent the majority of my adult life in Colorado. I got married in 1985, took an eleven year detour to the Washington/Baltimore area, earned my master's degree from Johns Hopkins, and am now back in the glorious Front Range of Colorado, living about 15 miles south of Denver near the town of Parker. I have 15-year-old twins, a boy (Paul) and girl (Dori). Paul is a competitive fencer and pianist and attends an elite boarding school in Ojai, California on a national scholarship. Dori is an anime artist, belly dancer and aspiring opera singer. She is a concurrent enrollment student, taking both high school and college courses. Oh, what a shameless braggart I am! serve unconditionally as court jester and poop eliminator. My husband is an aspiring author (any agents out there?). In January 2008 I happily retired after 20 years as an intelligence analyst and linguist with a federal agency. I currently do some Russian language tutoring on the side, am studying French at the local community college, and I volunteer at a Denver food bank. Last, but certainly not least, I am involved in the Empire Lyric Players, a Denver community theater group. We do Gilbert and Sullivan operettas. This year my family and I are appearing in "Patience." It's a hoot!
I'm having a great time locating everybody on the map. Glad to see that some of you escaped the St. Louis area! Woo-hoo! (No offense, the rest of you.)
Please, do write me. I promise that I won't bite!
