Averie's Story
It certainly has been a long time since high school!
I am currently living in the northern Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. I own a horse farm and thoroughly enjoy country living. I have lived for so many years out in the "sticks" that I do not think I could function in the suburbs ever again.
I have one grown daughter, Amanda, who is 29 years of age. She lives in Ottsville, PA which is north of Philadelphia. She is unmarried, but living with Mr. Right (I hope!). No grandchildren yet, but I am very anxious to try that out!
I have three 4-legged children. Makalu, a delightful stray male kitty that I took in several years ago after I lost my 16 year old dog, my 22 year old mare and my 16 year old kitty within a year. I also have two Registered Quarter Horses, both Geldings - Dude and Eb. My neighbor's dog spends more time here than at her house in the summer which helps to fill my dog yearnings. end to travel quite a bit and it is pretty difficult to keep all my furry family tended while I am away.
I am Registered Nurse working full-time in a busy Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in a nearby Medical Center. I also have a nature photography business and sell my images at art shows and online. Google my name, Averie Giles Nature Photography, and check me out.
I graduated from George Mason University with a Master of Science in Nursing, (Nursing Administration) and am planning to go back to school soon...not for a PhD but for a degree in Wildlife Science. An interest of mine.
I rarely make it to Pittsburgh these days except to take in an occasional Steelers game. I am still a big fan and try to get to at least one game every year, sometimes away, sometimes home. Fortunately, I can watch the Steeler's on television quite often. Don't know what I would do without a Steeler's fix in the winter!
