B (Gladys)'s Story

Experience is not what happens to you; it is what you do with what happens to you. Bertrand Russell: Three passions have governed my life: The longings for love, the search for knowledge, And unbearable pity for the suffering of [humankind]. I believe that: Love brings ecstasy and relieves loneliness. In the union of love I have seen In a mystic miniature the prefiguring vision Of the heavens that saints and poets have imagined. With equal passion I have sought knowledge. I have wished to understand the hearts of people. I have wished to know why the stars shine. Love and knowledge led upwards to the heavens, But always pity brought me back to earth; Cries of pain reverberated in my heart Of children in famine, of victims tortured And of old people left helpless. I long to alleviate the evil, but I cannot, And I too suffer. This has been my life; I found it worth living. B Mann Family: I have been married to Lonnie (Bear) Mann for 28 years. He is a '69 graduate of Caney Valley High School. Bear is an avid golfer and loves fishing. I have a 30 year old son Josh Fisk, (former Marine, world traveler, IT Security Specialist, and newly married to a Lithuanian (European) model, Irmina). Josh works for AT&T as a IT Securtiy Specialist and Mina models in Los Angeles for various companies. She hasn't caught a break in the USA, but was doing quite well modeling in Eupore. She and Josh are attending college. They reside in San Diego, CA. I also have a 23 year old daughter Lonna Mann (Cherokee name: Jia Wa U Ga) a graduate of Oklahoma State University with her major in Broadcast Journalism/Public Relations and minor in History. n Stillwater, OK. She writes for their website and promotes products which are: stereo speakers and integrated sound systems. Her car has an awsome stereo sound. Her second job is a waitress at Texas Roadhouse... she is a hard worker. Tip well! By the time you brag on your greatest accomplishments (your children) their isn't much else to say. Accept your children as they are, they will love you for it. Bear and I live in Broken Arrow, OK. Close enough to Tulsa to enjoy a culture, yet in a small enough community to know what is going on. I often think of our classmates that have left this earth before us and think of their families. We are richly blessed and may God be with each and everyone of you. Life: Life doesn't always turn out the way you expect. I have lived such an interesting life. I have had great jobs from: Western Publishing (Coffeyville) Receiving Clerk/Quailty Assurance, (Tulsa) Retail Sales/Buyer at Dallas Market/Model/local Commercials, (Broken Arrow) Teacher/Math/Science/Physics,after school special Reading program (Tulsa)Summer School Aernoutics Director, (Houston)NASA Writing Curriculum and teaching teachers Aernoutics, (Oklahoma University) Writing Curriculum and teaching teachers, (Tulsa) Starbase Teacher and help writing curriculum, Published author of poems and short stories in magazines and books, writer for (Tulsa) newspaper for airplane enthusiast, written aritcles for NASA news,(Okla)President of Johnson-O'Malley Native American Program for Creek Nation (Education for Native American Students) and still going. What lies ahead...I don't know but...I can't wait. "I love life because what more is there" Anthony Hopkins
