barbara's Story
Hi all,
Wish I could be there, but life holds me back. Spike is battling cancer and that takes up much of our time.
I will be a great-grandmother in June, happy and sad, my 17 year old granddaughter is a junior in high school and will be a mother soon. While at the hospital away from home I managed to make a baby quilt completely by hand, and it came out pretty nice. My granddaughter says it is an heirloom piece.
I taught adult ed sewing for 6 years in Newark and loved every minute of it but the politics, I started a craft dept. in New York Fabrics (I think they have since changed their name) and that was fun until the politics took over there, guess I am just not cut out to be a politician.
I have lived on the East Coast since 1994, still not used to the weather ...Expand for more
here. My family has moved this way so I don't have a need to visit CA anymore.
Hope everyone is doing well, please feel free to send an email to keep in touch. Have fun at our 50th reunion.

An Update, my granddaughter had her baby May 23 and it was a boy. They named him Andrew Nicholas Cage G. What a handle. Mother and baby doing well.
Update:
Spike passed away February 23, 2012 from cancer all over his body. He aced the prostate cancer and was a survivor for almost 2 years but passed away from other cancers. I am doing better but it will take time to heal from the events of this past year.
Any one who remembers Karen (Waters) Close please note she passed away last year. I tried for 10 years to find her and finally did it was her obituary, sad.
