Barbara's Story
I'm married with a grown son and am currently living in Texas. This is the eleventh state that I’ve lived in - and hopefully the last. Moving is awesome but I’m ready for some roots.
My husband and I are retired - he in 2005 and I in 2008.
I am a full time caregiver to my husband, as well as an advocate for wounded warriors and their caregivers.
We completed phase one of modifications/renovations on our 119 year old home in 2017 and in 2019 we split our time between the Center for the Intrepid (at Fort Sam Houston) and our home. 2020 saw us start pha...Expand for more
se two of our home renovation with all new siding and adding 600 square feet to our floor plan. 2021 will see us in phase three as we take the inside to studs and rebuild from plumbing and electric all the way to finishes. We plan to live in our RV during the gut - it will definitely be an adventure!
I was a soldier in the US Army and the Army National Guard/IRR from 1987-2005. After I left the military I worked in Infectious Disease/Travel Medicine/InternalMedicine.
Our son is married to the sweetest girl ever and 2020 saw them buy their first home.
