Dr. Barbara's Story

Mr. Soisson was sure I wasn't going to graduate. I did...barely. Went on to nursing school at Borgess. Twelve years of teaching nuns were enough for me. So I became a "Jacobson's Girl" has manager and buyer of sportswear. Met my true love in 1962. We had a daughter and were together until Nam broke lose in 1964.Went to Fort Wayne St. Joe Hospital School of Nursing for Midwifery. Came back to Michigan but Michigan would not approve my certification. I had a chance to 'go on the road' in 1968 for six month with a tour band as soloist, backup singer and dancer. Came back home and returned to Bronson OBGYN as a Tech. I met Rich in 1969 and have been married since. In 1985 I decided to go back to work and worked as a 'stringer' reporter for the Van Buren weekly news paper while taking a course on creative writing. By 1990 I was engrossed in teaching and my own education. We had a series of crisis in 1997 that lead me retreat and for several years I took all my classes through distant learning. In 2000 my husband retired from the union because he made more on retire...Expand for more
ment, and was offered a position with the Austin Co as a "consultant" as long as he never used his tools on the job. We did a lot of travelling from 2000 until 2006. And I continued to pile more credits to my education. When I reach 180 credits I decided it was time to do something with them. I began to research universities world-wide that were looking for my research. In 2005 I found one. Abroad. I received my PhD in 2006 from England and have since been teaching on line and lecturing. I maintained a 4.5 GPA, membership to Phi Theta and Phi Beta Honor Societies and received an International Honors of Excellence Award in 2006. I am also working for a mass-media book interpretation of my dissertation, "Myth to Monotheism, In Search of God. Man's Journey from Late Neolithic Age to Present Day through Cultures, Histories, and Philosophies of Major Religions of the World." Rich and I have two boys and three granddaughter. My daughter has two brothers from her father's side, five nieces and one nephew. We have a close knit Our, Yours, and Mine family life.
