Barbara's Story
After high school, I married my high school sweetheart, had a daughter and attended Fordham University. We lived in Germany for 3 years (my ex was in the Air Force) and also lived in Washington DC while my ex served at the Pentagon for 2 1/2 years. I divorced in 2000 and remarried in 2001 to a police offficer. I am currently trained as a police dispatcher but also take care of payroll issues for about 100+ employees. I rec'd my teaching certificate while employed at the Cleveland Police Department in Ohio and serve as the Administrative Assistant. I train new dispatchers and conduct bi-annual In Service trainging to existing dispatchers. probably retire doing this same job which I never thought I would be saying 14 1/2 years later. It is very fulfilling. I am so excited to have finally made my move to explore classmates.com and the first name I recognized was Billy Bunting who I sang in Ms. Smith's Jazz group with along with Nancy , Patty and some others so Billy, class of 83, if you see this, please respond if you remember me. I was about 5'5 thin build, and one of the few African American girls at the school. I was part of the ABC program and graduated with Nancy and Patty in 1982. I will be posting a picture in the next few days. I also will post a picture of us standing around the piano practicing a song we sang while members of the Jazz group. For now, I remain pretty much the same as I was in 1983- hope to hear from some classmates real soon.
