Category: Life
All about me... hmm... Well, I was born a poor black child in rural Montana.. oops.. no, that's not right.. um.. ok.
I am loathe to put down in words what I am 'all about', because, honestly, it changes from day to day. Not that I'm schizophrenic or anything, but rather, that I am not fond of routine and therefore 'find myself' (ha ha ha) re-inventing myself perpetually.
How's that for a run on sentence? heh heh heh
There are a few things that I do know about myself. I am extremely opinionated -even when I change my mind (I am a Libra...).
I talk a lot. A lot. (Consider yourself forewarned! :) And I love to tell stories- especially about my dogs. My dogs listen a lot. They're good stories, though.
I did grow up in Montana, and began life on a 6,000 acre ranch. I have lived most of my life (20 years) in my dad's hometown of Boulder, CO.
I miss the Boulder that I grew up with. Too many people wanted to own their own slice of paradise and then 'paradise' just went away one day. I saw Boulder go from a community of retired old school teachers, to the long haired hippie freaks, to cycling city USA (my favs... Davis Phinney...Yumm! --Sorry Connie!), to Mork and Mindy-ville (barf), to the current yuppie consumer wannabes. Yuck.Barf.Twitch. Twitch...

t the University of Colorado. I earned enough credits for majors in philosophy, dance, and theatre, but never declared them. I confess to being a "professional student"! In 1999 I moved to Vancouver, BC to study film and visual effects (you'd never guess from this profile!).
Currently, I am in Jollyville, TX, wondering "WHY??" Texas is the last place I ever thought I'd live-- now hold on, all you Texans, my mom was a dyed in the wool Texas native, and thanks to her, I've had my fill of "Texas"... and if you are a Coloradan, you'll know what I mean...nyuk yuk.
Although, I do love saying that I live in "Jollyville".
I ran for the Texas legislature in March of 2006. It wasn't my idea, the local alternative low power fm station was running ads looking for someone to run against the incumbent, Mike Kru$ee, and two people responded. The other guy was actually employed, so they asked if I would become the sacrificial calf in hopes of at least raising awareness of the dire straits facing Texas and our nation with the forthcoming TRANS TEXAS CORRIDOR (please visit CORRIDORWATCH.ORG). Due entirely to a dedicated core group of 4 volunteers who had 7 weeks to 'campaign', and a whopping $3500 to work with, we pulled off somewhere between 36 and 38% of the vote. I had to retire both of my ink jet printers after that adventure. I am delighted to say that Herr Kru$ee did not seek re-election this year. Ya baby!
After an extended bout of 'illness' (crohn's), I have re-surfaced and am ready to kick some bureaucratic ass around. Well, actually I just want to concentrate on waking up the masses of consumers.
Somebody needs to start teaching Logic 101 again and explain to people that advertising is not information-- even when it's called an 'infomercial'. Sheesh.
ANYTHING anyone 'sees' on TV is part of the business of selling you something It's all about conditioning "you" how to "live".
TURN IT OFF... or, as my favorite bumper sticker reads, "KILL YOUR TELEVISION"
I'm sure that the owners of this site (FOX) will love that sentiment... oopsie! OH WELL!
And so concludes this episode of "All About Me". Thank you for reading.
