After graduation I briefly worked at OLV hospital, then went to the Buffalo Psychiatric Center for 3 years. I met my first husband there, and in 1979 had my son Nicholas. After maternity leave I worked for a year at Millard Fillmore Gates Circle, then went back to BPC until 1984. When Nicholas started kindergarten I worked part time at DeGraff Hospital in North Tonawanda which was close to my home. I was attending UB at the time and in 1984 I earned my BSN degree. In 1985 I started my dream job as a Public Health Nurse for the Erie County Health Department. For 4 years I worked in home care, then for 3 years in Prenatal Care Clinics, and the final 13 yrs I worked in the School Health Department and was a School Nurse in the Buffalo Public Schools.
