Barbara's Story
A Tad Bit of My Life
Am retired due to health problems. Have used my Bachelor's degree in SEc. Ed fromPenn state as a teacher/instructor to mentally challenged adults for Goodwill. Have worked as a travel reservationist, High school English teacher, a nanny since I had been in the Peace Corps (1990-1993); before that I worked in retail sales including real estate sales.
I completed college at Penn State in 1989 (okay, I never did do things in a timely manner). Did that marriage thing for what seemed a lifetime, but just realized that I have been now divorced over 30 years. I have a grown son, ,52, who is an electrician, married to a wonderful woman. I am happy to say that I am a grandmother to 2 beautiful grand daughters who are, of course most intelligent and beautiful young ladies..
After many moves and travel, I settled in Schuylkill County, PA to enjoy the last years of my parents lives. As my father passed away in Feb. 2008, my mother has asked me to move in with her (is there something wrong about a 60 ye...Expand for more
ar old moving in with mom?) However, Mom passed away in Oct.2008, I got to move again!
Having moved 40 times in my life, I have lost touch with so many friends. I never enjoyed watching those friends marry, having children, achieving life goals or just having fun. So, I really want to locate classmates.
Here it is so many years since graduation, and I am not that English teacher I wanted to be. However, I am not really complaining, because I have done a lot. Eleven is now the number of states I have lived in. I moved to Wilmington, NC in the end of 2017 to be near the ocean, and out of very cold winters. Why the ocean? I was born in Miami.. Born by the ocean, die by the ocean. Not all turned out the way I wanted, but I made it into the Peace Corps and visited many countries, too. And I was teacher of sorts: I instructed MR people in life skills. As a nanny, I was also a teacher. Furthermore, I taught religion classes to grades 1-9, too. Right now I am fairly happy with my life! And certainly enjoy retirement. BAS
