Barbara's Story

Life Hi there! I married my high school sweetheart, Bob, in 1971 and graduated from Arizona State University in 1972. Bob was commissioned in the Air Force from San Diego State in 1971 and we moved to Williams AFB in Tempe, Arizona. He went to pilot training and I graduated from Ariz. State University earning a BS in Geography. Then we moved to Anchorage Alaska, Panama City Florida (lived there 3 different times), Minot North Dakota, Tucson Arizona and now Alamogordo New Mexico. Of course all those cities have Air Force Bases. While Bob flew jets and advanced in rank, I kept busy being a good Air Force Officer's wife ...Expand for more
and raising our 2 sons. I was a contracted Testing Specialist for the AF. I adminstered college and military exams to the Active Duty airmen and their dependents. I'm also a grandma and love that too! We just don't get to see our son Greg, his wife Stacey and their 2 boys very oftern. They're in Florida. (We lost our younger son, Mike, to a violent crime in 1999, so are trying to spend as much time with Greg as possible). We retired in September and are loving it! We own a couple of units in an older condo in Panama City Beach, FL so have spent last winter living in one, while remodelling the other. It was kinda fun!
