Greetings from Paradise, also known as The Villages, Florida's friendliest hometown, where I now live with my high school sweetheart, Shirley Russell '60. After EP I headed crosstown to PC. Got my BA in Education-Math in '62 and entered the USAF a few months later. Graduated from Officers Training School in Dec '62 and went to Navigator School at James Connally AFB in Waco, TX in '63. Got my wings in Nov and then headed to Mather AFB, Sacramento, CA, for Navigator-Bombardier School. While there I met Betty, a local gal, and we married in Jan '65, just before we left for McCoy AFB, Orlando, FL, and B-52's. Spent 2 1/2 years there, including a 6-month TDY to Guam and 53 bombing missions over Vietnam. In '67 I got a real surprise, a transfer to Hickam AFB, Honolulu, HI, and C-124 cargo planes. Spent the next 2 1/2 years flying all over the Pacific, especially Vietnam. Even went to Germany for 2 months and flew all over Europe.
