Patricia Cantor:  

Graduated from Commerce 1964 Graduated from Leland Powers School of Radio, TV & Theatre in Boston 1967. Graduated from Brevard Community College with Associate Degree in Hospitality Management 1996 using the GI bill. Worked part time for WSPR, Friendly's on State St, Joined the USAF in 1968, Went from SPFLD to TX, MS, VA,Alaska, back to VA then to IN, Guam, Tehran, Iran, HQs SHAPE in Belgium, Scott AFB, IL near St. Louis. Then to Greenland and West Berlin (where I witnessed the fall of the Berlin Wall and finally to Los Angeles CA where I retired. Moved to FL where I now reside back working for the USAF until I pay off the mortgage. I've got a wife of 40yrs, 2 daughters....one a Capt. in the US Army, just selected for Major. She is a Physician Assistant married to another Physician assistant. In May, she will get her Doctorate in Emergency Medicine from Baylor University.The other daughter is married to a guy who sells Air craft parts and used to be in the USAF. They have 2 kids, boy and a girl. She's a teacher at a local charter school. After a career in the USAF as a broadcaster for AFRTS, I worked in lodging for the USAF at Patrick AFB. Now fully retired, I'm traveling and seeing the world. In the last couple of years, I've been to the UK (wife was born there) Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Japan, South Korea and been on a couple of cruises to the Carribbean and a few transatlantic trips out NY-Southhampton, UK and Barcelona, Spain back to FL. Alaska cruise is next. Yes, I left Springfield behind a long time ago and haven't looked back. I was voted the class apple polisher because I was always talking to the teachers. But to learn you've got to communicate with the ones who have the answers to your questions. This ability came in handy during my USAF career. I was a broadcaster for the Armed Forces Radio & TV Service (AFRTS). Over the years I've interviewed Bob Hope (4 times), Roger Whittaker, Johnny Mathis, Bette Midler, Barry Manilow, Leo Sayer, Wolfman Jack, actors Anthony Edwards & Peter Falk (Columbo)(see the photo of Columbo & Me in the Photo section), Debbie Reynolds, singer Charles Aznavour and Martin Sheen as well as a few Generals. I even had the opportunity to interview the late Archbishop of New York, Cardinal John OConner. I've traveled all over the world and truely believe travel is one of the best educations you can get. UPDATE: My youngest daughter who is in the Army Just got her Master's Degree and was commissioned as a 1st Lt(see the photo). She is now a Physician's Assistant and was in Afganistan, Iraq, and Kuwait. Wife & I were in South Korea July 2010 to attend Daughter's wedding (see new photos). I worked for transit lodging at Patrick AFB, FL & am retired. If any classmates have retired or have a military ID card, stop by to visit.
