Who is that guy in the mirror, anyway? You know, the one with wrinkles and grey hair. Oh...Thankfully, the changes come gradually ;). But you know - the same on the inside...sometimes, I think I haven't changed a lot since way back when... It's a long way from those high school days and my memories of those days are kind of sparse. Now, I'm thinking these are the best days of my life; I'm sure that back then in 1965, I thought that those were. Some of my past lives included: caddying, potato picking, septic tank pumping,fence installation, sewer line hook-ups,construction labor,roofing, college student, selling Fuller Brush products,factory worker, painting houses,warehouse worker,body guard for Paul Newman (CT politics),retail,management trainee,store manager,summer youth employment counselor,employment training specialist,job coach,job developer, poet,and high school special ed teacher. Some of the work experiences I've had were very brief (Paul Newman's bodyguard for 3 hours and factory worker for 6 days), while just a few of the others had the longest duration - Sears warehouse worker for 4 years to help put myself through college; painting houses for 7 years; retail management for 10 years; and, teaching for 22 years. The last 22 years also included being a job trainer/coach and developing jobs for students with disabilities. I was a high school special education teacher in Middlebury, VT. for 22 years. I retired in June 2010. I 've looked forward to retirement for a long time but, I will miss my students - they have kept me feeling young even though one or two of them called me "old man." They made my career fulfilling and worthwhile. I'm not sure what the future will bring in the coming years; I hope to kee...Expand for more
