Becky's Story
Life
Hello to all my past and present friends and acquaintances! I hope that you are finding life rewarding and challenging. Remember, happiness is not determined just by what you want, because everyone WANTS to be happy. But happiness is rather determined by the wise choices that you make! Becky
College
My first year of college was a waste of my parents' money but I learned alot in the field of life. Boys, that is. I majored in boys the first year. I had no idea there were so many until I discovered a whole new crop in college. After I settled down, I seriously studied for a music major in both piano and vocals. Then I became a Licensed Practical (Vocational) Nurse, then went on to work some more on music. I completed over 3 yrs of music when I decided being an LVN wasn't enough. I went back into nursing and got my 2 yr RN AA Degree then went on to WSU and the Intercollegiate Center for Nursing in Spokane to get my BS in Nursing and I graduated Cum Laude. Pretty good, considering I got married in my final semester and my husband lived in Tacoma while I finished school in Eastern Washington. I'll tell you, all that commuting on the weekend to see my new husband sure kept the home fires hot! Since graduation, I have continued to educate myself in whatever field I am working in. Continuing ed is required in order to maintain nursing liscensure. I had a brief stint in School Nursing, and took alot of their workshops. I settled into Cardiology and took alot of training in Adv...Expand for more
anced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), EKG classes, Pacemakers, etc. I have also had alot of classes under my belt in Case Management where I now reside in my work life.
Workplace
Does anyone really care where I've worked and why? Hmm. Why? Could it be money? Lucky for me I am a nurse and so have been very enriched in my endeavors. I spent years working in the cardiac areas, was blessed to be able to help many a faltering soul teetering almost into eternity. Or helping those who were too weak to teeter to fall softly on the other side with a prayer on my lips for them. I now am a RN Care Manager for a major managed care health plan (if you don't know what that means, stop here...!). I love what I do and have a blast being a nurse. And hello to all the gals I worked with at Fresno's St Agnes Medical Center in UR/DCP. You were the BEST! Oh, and you Tele nurses were wonderful to work with, too! Didn't we experience alot together!?!
Family
I have 5 wonderful children, from ages 22-30 with 5 incredible grandchildren. I have been married to Ben since 1977 and we live on 1/2 acre with a Koi pond, a pot bellied pig named Stewart and of course a couple of cats and dogs. Most importantly, God is my Heavenly Father and I share a deep personal relationship with his Son, Jesus Christ. This is the most enriching relationship in my life and brings me front and center to realize my eternity is sure with God not because of anything I have done, but because of Christ's work on the cross for me.
