Becky's Story
Following graduation I worked at West Akron Church of Christ (now Summit Christian Church) in Akron, Ohio. I was the Director of Children's Ministries and the Worship Director. After getting married to Derek Pottinger and moving back to IL, I worked at Augustana College as part-time accompanist for a women's choir, as well as at Rock Island High School as their choir accompanist. ild in Fall '02, I have been a stay-at-home mom. For 6 1/2 years, my husband was the preacher at a church in Port Byron, IL. Then Derek and I decided to join the military community, and he became an Army chaplain. We arrived at his first duty station in July 2006, at Schofield Barracks, HI. We expect to be here until Summer '09. We have 3 little girls, so my primary role is professional mother. I also work as the chapel pianist at the main post chapel here.
