William's Story
I was born in Edinburg, Texas on November 14, 1950. I graduated from Edinburg High 0n May 28, 1969 The same day i finished school i left home.traveled through Texas. Wound up in Amarillo , found a day job. worked 2 weeks and left to Hart, Texas where i met my wife. got called to report at Amarillo for my physical to enter service to my country. was told i did not qualify..Doctor had misdiagnosed. my health.I wanted to serve my country for 20 years and retire from govt. go into different line of work and get 2 retirements. did not work like that. Tried to get into service till age 37 but was not meant for me.We were married for 40 years but I LOST HER IN JAN. 2009 from a heart attack. buried her next to both of her parents in Temple.have attended various schools trying to learn more. finally got a bachelor's degree from UHMB in Belton, Texas in December 2008 After reaching 247 college hours which should get me a PHD. looked into it but do not like to wrie a book to get the degree..We had six children. three gir...Expand for more
ls first and then three boys. Lost one on the girls in 1973 in an accident. We have nine grandchildren and four great grand children.Like then it's time for them to go home. We like all of them while dropping in for a short visit..still travel to RGV to visit family in the area. we used to travel often to littlefield, Texas where my second parents lived. I lost both of them in the last 6 months. still have a twin brother who lives in littlefield. he plans on moving back to Edinburg. it has now been 51 years since i finished school hope that i can make another 50 more.have not heard from some of my actual classmates except for Gina Chalfant who invited me to their 50th class reunion. I was able to attend, but she posted pictures of the class, which i enjoyed seeing. If some of you would like to see them, you can go to her site and look at some of former classmates.
