Bernardo's Story

Life After high school I went to work at Kaiser Steel in Fontana, CA, and of course got caught up in the Steel Industry lay-offs. After leaving Kaiser Steel I went to work for Southern California Edison Co. as an Electrician at the San Onofre Nuclear Power Plant, moved to San Clemente, CA. I met my wife Vanessa while working at San Onofre. We have been married for 18 years (to same ...Expand for more
wife), we have two sons, Bernie III, age 16 and Dominic, age 13. Vanessa was born and raised in Hawaii and we moved back there and lived in Honolulu. We moved to the Big Island and now live in Waikoloa Village. I now work for the Utility Workers Union of America, AFL-CIO as the Region 5 Director. I commute between Hawaii and California and live in San Clemente when on the mainland.
