Life After traveling for a year following graduation, I moved to Wyoming among the cowboys. For a while, I ran a private practice in clinical social work, did consultation and oversight of treatment services for a SAMHSA substance abuse treatment project for the Wyoming Department of Health, and taught a few classes at the university. I've signed my first publishing contract for a children's play I wrote. I am a producer for the Tumbleweed Project, an indie film development venture for local screenwriters and filmmakers in Wyoming. Recently, I moved to Hawaii where I am Project Director for ATR, a presidential grass-roots initiative grant through the Centers for Substance Abuse Treatment at SAMHSA. When not running 100 miles an hour, I am power-walking along one of Oahu's miles of beautiful beaches and learning to duck-dive into shore breaks of 3-6 feet without suffering death or dismemberment. School For many of us, high school was a painful hell. The bright spots are the ones I try to remember. The teachers who truly cared about us come to mind: Mrs. Lasley, Mr. Black, Mrs. Schmidt, and Mr. Leonard. For me, I recall Drama Club, the senior musical, Oklahoma!, and Laughman's store for lunches of Hostess fruit pies and Mountain Dew. Do you remember the distinct laughter of one of our classmates?
